Yellowstone Part 7

West Thumb Geyser Basin is my favorite of all the basins.


Then again, I have said that about every one we have visited.

 This one is called Black Pool.  


I truly believe this is my favorite pool.  It appears to be infinitely deep, and if you stare long enough, you may just get sucked in.  

  

This pool hides a surprise. It looks blue, but one formation inside is bright jade green.  From an angle, you can see that the ground you are walking on is just a crust.  The pool extends underground, seemingly without end.


On the drive home, there is a traffic jam and Hubs pulls off to see what the fuss is about.  

A moose munches grass in a field surrounded by pines.


 This is the first live moose I have ever seen and it strikes me as a caricature.  What a gangly, odd looking creature!
