We Moved Into the Airstream!

It is official...we live in a trailer.  And I am thrilled!

Having never been RV camping before (I tend to jump into things with both feet, ya know) we packed up a few possessions and moved into the Airstream three nights ago.  Let me tell you, it has been a steep learning curve.

Things I love:

*The bed is exactly the right size.  I was worried that it would be too narrow, but it is just right.
*It is so fast to heat, cool, and replace all the air instantly.  Living with two pugs, having immediate access to fresh air is a necessity. (Here's looking at you, Murray)
*The light switches are in all the right places.
*Oh the lighting!  There are lights wherever I need them, and I never have to turn on the overheads if I don't want to.  As a general rule, I despise overhead lighting.  It's an ambience thing.
*The TV angles down and is perfect for loafing in bed and playing Mario Kart. (I came down with something a few days ago and there is no better place to be immobilized than here.)
*There is a place for everything and everything has a place.
*The kitchen sink is enormous!
*The sound in here is how music should sound.

Things that surprised me:

*The water pump makes noise whenever the water turns on.
*We filled the grey tank within the first 24 hours of living here.  Oops.
*It follows that I got a crash course in using the "stinky slinky".  Anybody who has used the term "glamping" has never had to empty the tanks.
*The amount of trash generated in a day becomes much more noticeable, especially if you cook.  Either you use more water (and fill your tanks faster), or you make more trash.  Or you eat out and spend more moolah.
*I didn't have high expectations, but navy showers are even less fun than they sound.  I just keep reminding myself that it is better than showering outside.  Oh, and the metal bathroom floor is like ice until warm water hits it.

We are not on the road yet, so I am sure there will be many more surprises to come, but we are really comfortable in our new home.  It is wonderful to finally live in what we have been working towards for the past two years.  I am so blessed to have our teeny house!

p.s. Thank you so much for choosing to order from Amazon through my website!  It is such an encouragement!
