This week the shower pan was installed, the fronts for the dinette were put in, and other not very exciting things were started.

Way back when I was designing the interior, I knew I wanted aluminum toe kicks with lights.  I didn't know why, just that I did.  Today I figured out why.  The aluminum gives a lot of visual space at the floor because (1) it makes everything look like it is floating and (2) it is very reflective so it reflects the floor, making the hallway look much wider than it is.  I bought LED strips from E-bay that came from China for $6 per 15 foot roll.  I guess you get what you pay for.  I had ordered 3 of them, all in Warm White.  After installing them and hooking them up, it was clear that I got two warm white and one bright white.  Guh.  I had to take them off the kitchen side and use the third roll.

The counter/dinette top came this week!

It looks solid white in the picture above, but it has a really nice texture to it:

I painted something for our trailer, but I will leave you to guess what it is!

  1. Hi there,
I discovered your blog today and read through the entire thing in one afternoon! I just started gutting and renovating my '74 Tradewind and I found a lot of inspiration from what you are doing - my hat is off to you guys!!! I am, too, planing on full-timing in it once it's done, together with my boy Mickey, a 1 1/2 year old Aussie Shepherd.
What brand is your countertop laminate - love it so!
Keep on going - you are almost there, I have soooo much more ahead of me :-/
