That pretty much sums up this weekend. The weather was gorgeous and we needed to be outdoors. We took our Cobb Grill out for its maiden voyage to a little-known grassy lawn at edge of a local lake.
The Cobb worked perfectly. We got the little cast iron chamber to put hickory chips in and smoked a sirloin tip roast while grazing on bread and goat cheese, tiny plumbs and vegetables. The meat was sublime and the few people that passed stopped to take a sniff of the hickory smoke wafting from the grill.
For dessert, we had Chocolate Stout Cupcakes with Irish Cream Frosting. The cupcakes were palatable, but the frosting was heavenly.
Dessert was followed by a few rounds of Boggle as we listened to the waves lapping the shoreline.
What a perfect way to spend the afternoon.
